Thanksgiving Cost For Years and Billions Wasted… The Coming AI Energy Blues
I want to hope for many Blessings on this Thanksgiving day. Let me begin with a portion of Gov. Sam Adams 1796 Thanksgiving Proclamation.
Our civil Constitutions of Government, formed by ourselves, and administered by Men of our own free Election, are by His Grace continued to us. And we still enjoy the inestimable Blessings of the Gospel and right of worshipping God according to His own Institutions and the honest dictates of our Consciences.
And, together with our thanksgiving, earnest Supplication to God is hereby recommended for the forgiveness of our Sins which have rendered us unworthy of the least of his Mercies; and that by the sanctifying influence of his Spirit, our hearts and manners may be corrected, and we become a reformed and happy People—That he would direct and prosper the Administration of the Government of the United States, and of this and the other States in the Union. That he would still afford his Blessings on our Trade, Agriculture, Fisheries and all the labours of our hands. That he would smile upon our University, and all Seminaries of Learning—That Tyranny and Usurpation may everywhere come to an end—That the Nations who are contending for true liberty may still be succeeded by his Almighty aid—That every Nation and Society of Men may be inspired with the knowledge and feeling of their natural and just rights, and enabled to form such systems of Civil Government as shall be fully adopted to promote and establish their Social Security and Happiness—And, finally, that in the course of God’s Holy Providence, the great Family of Mankind may bow to the sceptre of the Prince of Peace so that mutual Friendship and Harmony may universally prevail.
And I do recommend to the People of this Commonwealth to abstain from all such Labours and Recreations as may not be consistent with the Solemnity of the said Day.
And now to the meat of the matter.
As I review all that Thanksgiving is about historically and as a matter of Foundational Faith, I hope that yours was fantastic and that I’m not reading about your family having dissected each other instead of the Turkey. If you are not reading this from the County pound, you survived discussions with grace and decorum.
What really caught my attention as November comes to a close is not the price of turkey and dressing but the cost of years and billions of dollars wasted on collecting taxes and the insanity of the ‘matrix’ needing more energy. Yes, data requires nuclear power plants but not for your home or manufacturing industry.
Let me take each of these topics one at a time.
A Century of Cost and Waste
I finally came upon a great article and research paper that validates what I’ve been saying for over thirty years, ‘individuals and business are a un-reimbursed tax collecting agents of the government.’ I have contended over those decades that forcing business and individuals into compliance is a costly endeavor, especially in that businesses will pass these administrative cost on to the clients or consumers.
The colossus that over shadows the rights and property of the Citizen is a result of years and billions of dollars wasted through this un-reimbursed tax collection. The tentacles of this beast began, you guest it, with the 19th Amendment, the income tax. This 1913 Hydra has so many heads that it is going to be a wonder if the DOGE team can audit the IRS or if the IRS will dodge the sanity that the 47th President is bringing to affect bloated government.
I digress with the hope of a solution but the problem was best defined by an article written by Peter St. Onge on November 24, 2024 in The Daily Signal. The article is titled: IRS Compliance Costs $546 Billion Per Year. This is a well done synopsis of the in depth report from Tax Foundation entitled: Tax Complexity Now Costs the US Economy Over $546 Billion Annually by Scott Hodge and Claire Rock on August 6, 2024.
Don’t gulp, this is Annually and has been going on at lesser amounts ever since the IRS came into existence. I want you to appreciate this statistical paragraph that both articles mention:
‘Note this $546 billion is on top of the $4.9 trillion the IRS actually took from us in taxes. And, of course, it’s separate from the economic impact of taxes, which might add another $15 trillion in lost income.
Breaking it down, the $546 billion is made up of 7.9 billion hours Americans spent complying with the tax code. Which, at 10 million words, is the length of 21 “Lord of the Rings” trilogies.’
Imagine having 21 copies of the trilogies. Heck, I only have two. What does that correspond to in your time or that of corporations having to comply? The Tax Foundation ran these number (my emphasis added):
‘According to the latest estimates from the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), Americans will spend more than 7.9 billion hours complying with IRS tax filing and reporting requirements in 2024. This is equal to 3.8 million full-time workers doing nothing but tax return paperwork—roughly equal to the population of Los Angeles—and nearly 46 times the workforce at the IRS.
If we assume a reasonable hourly wage, the 7.9 billion hours Americans spend complying with the tax code costs the economy roughly $413 billion in lost productivity. In addition, the IRS estimates that Americans spend roughly $133 billion annually in out-of-pocket costs to comply with the tax code. This brings the total compliance costs to $546 billion, or nearly 2 percent of GDP.’
And here is how the IRS defines your mandatory compliance with the last statement as one not calculated into the factors:
‘a IRS whitepaper explaining their methods:
Taxpayer compliance burden is generally defined as the time and money taxpayers spend to comply with their tax filing responsibilities. Time-related activities include recordkeeping, tax planning, gathering tax materials, learning about the law, and completing and submitting the return. Out-of-pocket costs include expenses such as purchasing tax software, paying a third-party preparer, and printing and postage. Taxpayer compliance burden does not include a taxpayer’s tax liability, economic inefficiencies caused by sub-optimal choices related to tax deductions or credits, or psychological costs.’
The IRS has humor in that they don’t calculate the psychological trauma cost they cause Citizens every year.
Taxes to Tariffs
If you are student of the Constitution than you understand that tariffs are the Constitutional mechanism for the Federal Government to fund itself. And yes, it should only be operating in the cage of Article I, Section 8 enumerated powers. All other activities need to be assessed by the DOGE team and propose elimination of those activities through legislative action or at least by budget reductions to nullify their negative impact on the Citizens amount of taxation.
I don’t see Congress getting rid of the income tax at any time in the next fifty years. Yet, Congress must and Shall be required to utilize the Article I, Section 8 mechanisms for raising operating revenues. Historical taxation in this section is Not from personal or business incomes. It would be a miracle if the greed of Congress can every be overcome and reasonable government re-established.
Personally, I am looking forward to see how the new Administration is going to pull off the use of Tariffs (Constitutionally speaking: Imposts), and a fair Excise as Constitutionally intended.
Now to the taxation of the power grid or No energy of individuals.
The Coming AI Energy Blues
With the mega shifts of various states to solar or wind energy production, the effects are disastrous as seen in Texas as well as Nevada. I will touch on those in a moment. But, it is critical to understand that the ‘Matrix1’ needs massive amounts of energy to function. It is time for you to begin thinking about your personal pod for your being a cell in the energy production.
So, AI is in high demand of power and the New Green scam (Deal) is singing the Energy Blues…. ‘Can’t deliver your AI needs.’ What is that all about?
Think on the title of this article ‘A Single AI Data Center Could Soon Consume Twice the Electricity of Pittsburgh’ in contrast to heating or cooling your home. Worse, think of all those folks in the Houston area that when the wind turbines freeze over, power is guaranteed to the Data Centers over the Citizens. Or is that a stretch?
But who is investing in really effective energy sources? How about Microsoft wanting to buy and restart Three-mile Island (Microsoft Plans to Revive Infamous Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant to Feed Insatiable AI Power Requirements). How is it that greeny weeny Gates and crew want that nasty nuclear energy for themselves. Hmm, Gates is looking more and more like Vector from Despicable Me. Gates sure acts like him. I digress.
Now on to a true Dr. Evil, Jeff Bezos. He need more power: Amazon Bets Big on Small Nuclear Reactors to Power Expanding AI Data Centers. From the article,
Forbes reports that Amazon has announced three major deals to develop and deploy small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) to power its data centers in Virginia, Washington, and other states. The tech giant has partnered with Dominion Energy, Energy Northwest, and nuclear startup X-energy to bring more than 5 gigawatts of new power projects online by 2039, enough electricity to power a mid-sized city.’
Let the Citizenry suck wind and fry on pv before the oligarchs give up their AI power. Well, you can say that if they want to pay for private nuclear power, fine. Just don’t ask for subsides or government bailouts. But think about it, since government is major data consumption customers of Amazon and Microsoft, well, the taxpayer will be on the hook for their nuclear plants and never get the personal benefit from it. Unless you are in your power pod.
Back to Texas and Nevada
Real quick. Texas lost its wind power: Half of Texas Wind Turbines Freeze, Hurting Electricity Output. Now, if Amazon is going to build nuclear energy in Texas at some point, will they be connected to the grid there? I doubt it.
Just a note from a 12 July, 2024 article regarding the Texas power grid:
‘The United States has two major power grids: one for the eastern part of the country and another for the west.
Each grid connects to different power sources, so if one state is having problems generating power, it can be redirected from other parts.
However, Texas is the only state with its own autonomous power grid, which has led to regular issues.
In February 2021, a prolonged cold storm caused the grid to collapse due to demand for heating. Natural gas lines also faced problems. Dozens of residents froze to death.’
By the way, it was Obama that force the US power grids to consolidate which, has driven up distribution cost and other issues over the years.
Now, let’s look at sunny Nevada’s debacle. I will just leave it with the fact that the complete story of the Green New scam (Deal) is all about theft, fraud and yes, scams. Read what the Biden DOJ is doing for you: Exclusive — Crescent Dunes: Biden DOJ Moved on Election Night to Cover Up Alleged Solar Energy Scandal that Cost Taxpayers Hundreds of Millions.
Conclusion
Under the 13th Amendment, the IRS has made every Citizen and business slaves. So you work forty plus hours a week, correct? You get paid, taxes withheld so you are good, correct? Fact is you are a slave to the IRS. Just to clarify and remind you that
‘According to the latest estimates from the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), Americans will spend more than 7.9 billion hours complying with IRS tax filing and reporting requirements in 2024. This is equal to 3.8 million full-time workers doing nothing but tax return paperwork—roughly equal to the population of Los Angeles—and nearly 46 times the workforce at the IRS.’
>With that, I hope that electing Donald Trump and the DOGE team can clean this up as well.
To that end of the DOGE team, The Green New scam (Deal) must go. We need gas fired and clean coal power plants. Better yet, if Microsoft, Amazon and yes, even Google can build nuclear power plants, so should the public utility companies. This means Dump the EPA. The EPA and other agencies need regulations on energy removed.
Let them be DOGE’d.
