Episode 433: Nationalism – Part 3: Church and State Theological Polity Muddle – Ezra Stiles

See the link for the video of ‘Nationalism – Part 3: Church and State Theological Polity Muddle’ at Rumble or YouTube

This week in Nationalism – Part 3: Church and State Theological Polity Muddle, Ezra Stiles gives us details of foundational Nationalism, I might add Christian to the to that. Stiles gives a deep study regarding national and international history that most have never heard.Nationalism

Yes, nations are judged as we are in this present time. Stiles lays this out with clear understanding.

Through Stiles we will cover the plight of the illegals rapacious flooding of our borders with historical context of enslaved people moving from one set of masters to another. In this 1783 sermon, I also cover the very tip of the iceberg for the Biblical foundation of ‘Just War Theory / Theology.’

And for this week, I am only covering the first twenty pages of the fifty-three page sermon. Therefore, I will be ending where it really begins to highlight A Nation elevated to Glory and Honor.

I have to speedily take you into all that Stiles introduced in these first twenty pages. There is historical significance you will not get anywhere else, and yes, pastors never get this unless they have a heart and mind to understand the full extensibility of God’s sovereignty.

Opening Comments

A quote from the sermon for you to chew on and then a bit of a bio on Rev. Ezra Stiles. Continue reading

Episode 431: Church and State Theological Polity Muddle

Church and State Theological Polity Muddle

– Mayhew, Stiles and Schaeffer

See the link for the video of ‘Church and State Theological Polity Muddle’ at Rumble or YouTube

How is the history of 1766, 1783 and 1976 tied to the ‘Church and State Theological Polity Muddle’ of our present day? To get the perspective I delve into the 1766 Sermon by Johnathan Mayhew, the 1783 Sermon by Ezra Stiles and a 1976 book from Francis Schaeffer.

My marked and commented Mayhew sermon.

I want to be clear that I was researching this effort to educate on this topic longer than the present evangelical controversy that is playing out across the web-sphere. Although, the relevance of our present age is not new when it comes to how mankind addresses culture, government, politics and church polity; the root of how truth is treated is centered at how a culture, a nation or the church view the absolute sovereignty of God.

This week I introduce us to the ‘Repeal of the Stamp Act’ as delivered by Rev. Jonathan Mayhew. We will only get into the very first part of the historic colonial view as Mayhew relates it. In this, I interject the same inferences of injustice, influencers of government decisions and the responses of the Colonists. I also mention the intersection of Ezra Stiles and Francis Schaeffer as part of a trifecta that sets the stage for our present dilemmas.

Opening Comments

If you don’t understand what is happening in the United States Evangelical churches at present you can go to the references for what I believe is one of the best explanations and considerations of situation. This is a church theological polity muddle. Yet, there were similar jumbles, mishmash and confusion brought on by the Tory pastors during the whole of the Colonial Founding Era. Interestingly, Sam Adams addresses some of that confusion in a series of Articles.

In this podcast / vlog, I introduce quotes from Francis Schaeffer and Ezra Stiles that help set some of the tone for the connection between Mayhew’s sermon, the past and to the present lessened about fifty years. Continue reading

Blog 412: When The Lights Go Out

When the Lights Go Out

By Rose Marie Cook

When the lights go out do you wonder what happened? Were you prepared? Can you find your way? Will you be able to function or are you gripped in bewilderment ready to … (you chose the ending.)

Yup, the lights went our around here again. We had sever storms and a tornado hit. For Cat and I, no big deal since we are ready for most inevitabilities. Yet, you have to look at the events across the nation from Hawaii wildfire, which was started from greeny theology and the negligence of the electric company, to hurricane Idalia blowing through the state of Florida and beyond.

Well, now a days, we think in nexus considering the timing of what and when the lights will go out because of the weaponized mechanism of the federal and state governments. Yes, all due to the storms of the malicious plans of elites which the Anti-federalists warned of.

As a note: Just remember that policy and law are developed and implemented based on religious beliefs. Check out the References for the mix of religious/denominational clinging to and promoting what I’ve studied as anti-Biblical.

Almost everyone, including many citizens who consider themselves ‘on top of the current events,’ are actually ‘in the moment’ reacting as if all that is happening throughout the institutions of government were just happening in the last several decades.

Well, just about everyone, including so called conservatives, blabber ‘history be damned and let’s get all emotional’ since the lights are out and no one cares who rants or trembles in the dark, joining with the others stumbling along as well.

Dark To Dawn

Consider this quote from Rev. Samuel Cooke’s Election Day Sermon, 1770: Continue reading

Episode 381: Year End Assessment and What Next

Year End Assessment Video at Rumble or YouTube

My Year End Assessment is totally free forms. I have limited the notes here to highlights ofJanuary 6th Not what History Proves programs I have done over these 52 weeks of programing. Yet, generally speaking, I am focussing on the theme of Political Theology for this week.

Before I go further, there have been a couple individuals who have been faithful financial supporters of the program, as well as, a couple others that joined in with one time gifts. A warm Thank You.

Now, Let me summarize the past year and the one going forward:

Everything is theological. The question is what theology as ascribed to what god?

Murder Before Your EyesWith my summarization, I want to re-quote what I mentioned in the Christmas greeting from a Rev. Jasper Adams:

‘We find by examining its (Christianity’s) history, that, in rude ages, its influence has softened the savage and civilized the barbarian; while in polished ages and communities, it has accomplished the no less important end of communicating and preserving the moral and religious principle, which, among a cultivated people, is in peculiar danger of being extinguished amid the refinements, the gaiety, and the frivolous amusements incident to such a state of society.’ – 1833

As I always say: The Anti-federalists Got It Right, and they clearly predicted our present especially in their full understanding of the ramifications of those American sons of the enlightenment who argued for the Constitution of 1787. The Anti-federalists expected the pulpits to hold true to Christian Orthodoxy but knew full well that the humanism of the enlightenment and the theological shift to Universalism and Unitarianism would be the demise of Constitutionalism. Episode 368: Christian Nationalism 7.0

Video for Christian Nationalism 7.0 at Rumble and YouTube

Many articles and references have been showing up in my email regarding Christian Nationalism. IChristian Nationalism7.0 thought the article by John D. Wilsey titled ‘The Many Faces of Christian Nationalism’ is a nice walk through history on this area of Political Theology.

I titled this program Christian Nationalism 7.0 in consideration of the seven distinct sections that are time stamps in the American story of Christianity being the influencer in governing the nation as well as the source of Patriotism – love of country.

I do a quick analysis of the paper by Wilsey. I have two areas where I have some disagreement with him. Those being his analysis of Lincolnian Unionism and Wilsonian Idealism. I do not consider either of these to be representative of positive eras of Christian Nationalism but more of the sort that used Christian references to justify their progressivism. This is especially true with Woodrow Wilson and his side kick John Foster Dulles.

Italy – A Return to Christian Nationalism?

Just a side note, If you want to hear Christian Nationalism bubbling, go and read the speeches of the new Italian Prime Minister. She nails it. See the analysis by Doug Wilson and Tucker Carlson.

Episode 366: Reviewing Doug Wilson’s Primer on Christian Nationalism From the Mirrors of History

In preparation for this week, I was rereading ‘The Pulpit Of The American Revolution: Or, The Sermons Of The Period Of 1776, With A Historical Introduction, Notes, And Illustrations. By John Wingate Thornton, A.M.,’ and the Vlog of DougChristian Nationalism Wilson’s Primer on Christian Nationalism popped up on my video feed. Well, this really got my hair curled as I listened to Pastor Wilson echo the words of John Wingate Thornton’s Preface and Introduction to his work on these founding sermons.

I do not intend to do a frame by frame review of Doug Wilson’s Primer on Christian Nationalism but I do intend to take you through the mirrors of history regarding those reflections of then for the solutions of our present. I do expect that you shall review the Vlog of the Primer on Christian Nationalism after either listening to this programs podcast or watching the video.

Confessions and the Loss Guidance of Continuity

I had to take a short moment to comment on the references that were made in the Primer on Christian Nationalism regarding the American changes in the Westminster Confession. What I can attest to from having participated in various denominations, including charismatic ones, is that there is a loss of guiding continuity in what was Christian participation in government.

To me, after a deep study of the Reformation, the comparison of the Westminster Confession by Pastor Wilson hits the nail on the head for bureaucrats and elected persons at any level of government. The following is what I believe is a very important, the missing principles that once were inculcated in our Founding era where in the Westminster Confession. For the greater part of modern Christianity — This is not taught or for that matter, any of the foundational Confessions are not taught. Continue reading

Episode 358: Enlightenment Toward the National Religion

Video at Rumble

There is much written on the Enlightenment and some of you are a greaterEnlightenment polymath than I. Yet, for others, I intend to offer some basic insights to the Enlightenment toward the National Religion here in these United States. The freedom of conscience did originate at the Edict of Milan in 313, where Constantine made all religions legal in the Roman Empire. I will discuss that this gift, Freedom of Conscience, is the bane of this nation since the majority of pulpits have been offered over to the National Religion.

In the first segment I am reviewing last week on ancient world with the comparison to our present pagan government. Through this week I came across a video where Doug Wilson was asked, ‘Were the Greek Gods Real?’ I like the way he gets one thinking about the powers shadowing nations. The bottom line that hits home is that we in reality battle in the spirit realm but one has to be properly equipped. Hoot man…. The majority of Christians do not consider the extensibility of this battle and the ‘why don’t they question’ is for another program.

Considering Melancton Smith

Episode 357: National Religion – Political Sex Enabled By the 1st Amendment

A National Religion – Political Sex Enabled By the 1st Amendment  Episode 357

Video at: Rumble, Brighteon or YouTube

Political sex is the vanguard of despotism that has given us a National Religion contrary to the Constitutional intent of the 1st Amendment. In Rome and other pagan cultures before Jesus the Christ, ‘exercising absolute power, especially in a cruel and oppressive way1 (despotism) was the norm.

By the way Evangelicals, Welcome to the theocracy that you feared. A National Religion and it ain’t the ‘end times’ … it is bad theology, lazy pulpit teaching and lazy ignorance of responsibility as a citizen of a Constitutional Republic.

This week is the beginning of a series on the National Religion. In the second segment I relate how the mental health industry since 1940’s, under the leadership of Dr. G. Brock Chisholm, the first head World Federation of Mental Health, planned the moral decline of these United States. In the third segment I take a deeper dive into Roman political sexuality and specifically into the demise of the Bacchanalia Affair of 186 BCE. As mentioned in the article about the Bacchants, the Roman empire viewed Christians as the same cultish ilk, which initiated and set up the persecution of Christians in the empire.

Independence Day 2022 – Retuning To Feudalism

Independence Day 2022

Independence Day 2022 should be a grand celebration of our Liberties as secured by the Declaration of Independence. Yet, as I brought out on the program about William Z. Foster that the 100 year effort toward socialism. In so many ways we are returning to what I have discussed over the last ten years as Modern Feudalism.

To get your mind afire with Sam Adams, read the Speech he gave regarding the Declaration of Independence. I do write a forward in this download. Here are several excerpts:

Truth loves an appeal to the common- sense of mankind. Your unperverted understandings can best determine on subjects of a practical nature. The positions and plans which are said to be above the comprehension of the multitude may be always suspected to be visionary and fruitless. He who made all men hath made the truths necessary to human happiness obvious to all. Continue reading

Caballing Cowards, Menacing Moral-less Miscreants

Caballing Cowards, Menacing Moral-less Miscreants  Caballing Cowards

As many of you know, I look at our present through the mirrors of history. Foundationally speaking, we are now a nation of three-hundred million people in fifty States and fourteen territories. Interestingly we were initially a nation of three million in the thirteen Founding States. So the population in the United States is one-hundred time that of 1776 and ‘caballing cowards’ and ‘menacing moral-less miscreants’ are being fully exposed now as they were in the founding era.

The historical words quoted here should be taken in context then and now. The quotes and the principles stated in them are applicable at every level of governance across these United States. I will make my emphasis in the historical quotes with bold italics. I make no apologies for the length of this article.

So before I get to the Ohio Republican Party (ORP) State Central Committee, the Ohio Governor and Lt. Governor, the Secretary of State and the Ohio Legislative and Judicial branches; well OK, all the bureaucrats and all lesser political elements in Ohio alone; let me make a quick mention of a large number of the pulpits in Ohio and across the nation. I want to be clear that my admonishment is to not all pulpits but most, if not the majority, which fall into the realm of not having knowledge of or understanding of foundational Biblical truth or history (see – Barna: “Pastor’s Losing Credibility”). With this lack of credibility, the people in the majority of churches, as well as the politicians or bureaucrats that attend, are destroyed. Hosea 4:6 ‘My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.’ Continue reading
