8-29-20 Covenant “Promises Made = Promises Kept”

Covenant Covenant - Promises made and kept

What is Covenant? The very concept of Covenant is not a part of our language, not even in Christian circles. This theological concept was in fact a core component of what was understood in our Founders era. Yes, The interactive relationship between individuals, society and individuals as well as the first Covenant of the inner determination of God in three persons to establish salvation were Founders premises for governance.

The American Founders looked at the Reformation context for the definition of Covenant. Here is a simple definition:

The term “covenant” is of Latin origin (con venire), meaning a coming together. It presupposes two or more parties who come together to make a contract, agreeing on promises, stipulations, privileges, and responsibilities. 1

In this program, I am covering the use of Covenant in Foundational writings including the Constitution of Massachusetts, writings about Sam Adams, letters or documents written to or by Sam Adams and a perspective from John Witherspoon in his work “Lectures On Moral Society.” Continue reading

8-31-19 The Law – Part 2

No different then the extensibility of the Gospel, the whole law of God is manifested in every aspect of His creation. Yet we learn via the reference noted below from LONANG.COM that our foundational historical context of law degenerated about the same time as the ‘social gospel’ made its rage in America.

He looks at natural science, psychology, authority, communication and human bias. Continue reading

12-6-14 Program: Why the Anti-federalist Are the Constitutional Interpreters?

This week I elaborate on how many of the Colonist actually knew the law and understood the English Constitution in great detail.  The Colonist were for the most part highly literate and understood law not just from a legalize perspective but from a Reformation Covenant perspective.

We will also discuss what the Founders intended for education was based on what they learned and what has been left out of the modern political science conversation completely: The Anti-federalists are in fact the final determiners of Constitutional interpretation, Not the Federalist Paper!  Find out why by listening to this Program.

All audios below are in radio programs segment order:

Segment 1: Anti-federalists the final authority and intro do Founders education

Segment 2:  How the Founders were educated and what they learned

Segment 3:  Intro to Altusius and Federalism
