Episode 366: Reviewing Doug Wilson’s Primer on Christian Nationalism From the Mirrors of History

In preparation for this week, I was rereading ‘The Pulpit Of The American Revolution: Or, The Sermons Of The Period Of 1776, With A Historical Introduction, Notes, And Illustrations. By John Wingate Thornton, A.M.,’ and the Vlog of DougChristian Nationalism Wilson’s Primer on Christian Nationalism popped up on my video feed. Well, this really got my hair curled as I listened to Pastor Wilson echo the words of John Wingate Thornton’s Preface and Introduction to his work on these founding sermons.

I do not intend to do a frame by frame review of Doug Wilson’s Primer on Christian Nationalism but I do intend to take you through the mirrors of history regarding those reflections of then for the solutions of our present. I do expect that you shall review the Vlog of the Primer on Christian Nationalism after either listening to this programs podcast or watching the video.

Confessions and the Loss Guidance of Continuity

I had to take a short moment to comment on the references that were made in the Primer on Christian Nationalism regarding the American changes in the Westminster Confession. What I can attest to from having participated in various denominations, including charismatic ones, is that there is a loss of guiding continuity in what was Christian participation in government.

To me, after a deep study of the Reformation, the comparison of the Westminster Confession by Pastor Wilson hits the nail on the head for bureaucrats and elected persons at any level of government. The following is what I believe is a very important, the missing principles that once were inculcated in our Founding era where in the Westminster Confession. For the greater part of modern Christianity — This is not taught or for that matter, any of the foundational Confessions are not taught. Continue reading

Episode 365: January 6th From August 1768 – Then Higher Ed Endowments

January 6th From August 1768. Then Higher Ed Endowments

Video available at Rumble and / or YouTube

January 6th from August 1768 is a look into the mirrors of history. You will have to get the details by listening to orJanuary 6th from Sugust 1768 watching the program since I make the comparison from the article written by Sam Adams which is signed ‘Determinatus.’ The full article is in the Sam Adams Wisdom section of this posting.

The rhetoric of the media and political class have not changed since 1765 through the time of Sam’s Article in 1768. Those who despise actual Liberty are agents of the evil one, hence their tactics are as old as time. To bad the solutions of old are not being applied properly now. In fact, in these 20th and 21st centuries, those who claim to love Liberty have compromised the principles of fighting for Liberty to the satisfaction of the Tories in 1768. Our present generation are cowards, ignorant of true Virtue and morality, which gives the capacity to fight evil in the context of a Constitutional Republic. Yes, the claimed democracy pushed by the present media and political class is no different than the mercantilism and bombastic messaging of the Tories in the 18th Century.

Bottom line is that reflecting on January 6th from August 1768 is a look at the lack of morality and virtue having been instilled at the pulpits ‘plus,’ as Sam puts it, Continue reading

7-4-20 Samuel Adams Returns

Samuel Adams Returns  Adams, Otis and Liberty

Samuel Adams Returns, The Anti-federalists Got It Right is the name of this program. It was brought to my attention that Sam Adams was never on the program.

Therefore, this week, Samuel Adams is the Guest Host of the program named after him. Sam will spend a couple of segments of this program to take us through his speech about the Declaration of Independence.

Letter of Instruction 1764

Constituents would select a key member of the community to develop and write a ‘Letter of Instruction’ to those elected to the General Assembly. In 1764, Samuel Adams was the designated citizen to develop and write ‘INSTRUCTIONS OF HE TOWN OF BOSTON TO ITS REPRESENTATIVES IN THE GENERAL COURT. MAY, 1764.’

For this weeks program, Sam is not only summarizing the purpose of these instructions but read to us the key elements that are relevant to our present time and situation.

12-6-14 Program: Why the Anti-federalist Are the Constitutional Interpreters?

This week I elaborate on how many of the Colonist actually knew the law and understood the English Constitution in great detail.  The Colonist were for the most part highly literate and understood law not just from a legalize perspective but from a Reformation Covenant perspective.

We will also discuss what the Founders intended for education was based on what they learned and what has been left out of the modern political science conversation completely: The Anti-federalists are in fact the final determiners of Constitutional interpretation, Not the Federalist Paper!  Find out why by listening to this Program.

All audios below are in radio programs segment order:

Segment 1: Anti-federalists the final authority and intro do Founders education

Segment 2:  How the Founders were educated and what they learned

Segment 3:  Intro to Altusius and Federalism

On this broadcast of Samuel Adams Returns – The Anti-federalist Got It Right, ( www.lwrn.net ) I discuss the underlying principles that has brought me on the journey of why Samuel Adams needs to Return.  In the third segment I was compelled to mention something about the recent Mid-term elections.  Regarding these elections, I thought it important to review what George Washington said in his Farewell Address.  As promised in that segment, here a link to the Farewell Address and the ability to download it from here as well.
