Episode 411: Out Of Control Republic With Justice No More

Watch Out Of Control Republic With Justice No More–- on Rumble, Brighteon or YouTube

Can there be an out of control republic with justice no more?

Before we get to the meat we have to move through the carrots, potatoes, herbs and gravy of 1996 when the U. S. began being governed by a de facto parliament. Consider my comments on Pelosi pulling parliamentary moves to stop House members from challenging the 2020 election on January 6. See the References below for details on this.

to the Anti-Federalist Cato in reference to an out of control republic:

In large republics, the public good is sacrificed to a thousand views…in a large one, there are men of large fortunes, and consequently of less moderation; there are too great deposits to trust in the hands of a single subject, an ambitious person soon becomes sensible that he may be happy, great, and glorious by oppressing his fellow citizens, and that he might raise himself to grandeur, on the ruins of his country.’

Governor George Clinton of New York warned that large republics end up as consolidated governments. He write under the pseudonym ‘Cato.’ This week I discuss, Anti-Federalist No. 14, Extent of Territory under Consolidated Government Too Large to Preserve Liberty or Protect Property (Read Cato essay No. III here).

This remonstrance to the new constitution focuses on the consolidation of independent republics into one national / federal republic to which Cato shows and predicts: (my emphasis in bold underline)

‘…whoever seriously considers the immense extent of territory comprehended within the limits of the United States, together with the variety of its climates, productions, and commerce, the difference of extent, and number of inhabitants in all; the dissimilitude of interest, morals, and politics, in almost every one, will receive it as an intuitive truth, that a consolidated republican form of government therein, can never form a perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to you and your posterity, for to these objects it must be directed. This unkindred legislature therefore, composed of interests opposite and dissimilar in their nature, will in its exercise, emphatically be like a house divided against itself.’

Here is the futuristic words of our present:

‘From this picture, what can you promise yourselves, on the score of consolidation of the United States into one government? Impracticability in the just exercise of it, your freedom insecure, even this form of government limited in its continuance, the employments of your country disposed of to the opulent, to whose contumely (insolent or insulting language or treatment) you will continually be an object. You must risk much, by indispensably placing trusts of the greatest magnitude, into the hands of individuals whose ambition for power, and aggrandizement, will oppress and grind you. Where, from the vast extent of your territory, and the complication of interests, the science of government will become intricate and perplexed, and too mysterious for you to understand and observe; and by which you are to be conducted into a monarchy, either limited or despotic; the latter, Mr. Locke remarks, is a government derived from neither nature nor compact.’

It is clear that we the Free Understanding Constitutional Citizens of these United States are objects receiving the continual contumely of the opulent ambitious power-mongers, seeking aggrandizement through grinding oppression of our God given rights.

Episode 356: Unfaithful Guardians, Interview with Author Dave Welty

Unfaithful Guardians, Interview with Author Dave Welty

Unfaithful Guardians

The 3rd Edition is available

Unfaithful Guardians is a program that ran in 2018. In dealing with a family death of a Patriot, conversations with my Aunt would sometimes focus on the Supreme Court. With that, I am dedicating this program to her.

Bringing back a review of Unfaithful Guardians, written by Dave Welty is most appropriate considering the recent rulings of the Supreme Court of The United States (SCOTUS).

In this is interview with Dave Welty, the author of “Unfaithful Guardians” is refreshing as well as it gives a great comparative to what is happening in the court now compared to the philosophical shifts over one hundred years ago. Dave has written a fantastic walk through history culminating in what flipped with the Judicial system and Supreme Court. His clear understanding of the 14th Amendment is deeply researched. He can clearly articulate the Original Intent established by the 39th Congress and the State Ratifying Conventions of the Day.

As always, remember: The Founders wanted us to gain knowledge and get involved! Being a Citizen is an Active involvement in our political life! Let’s get our feet on the street for this time is critical!

Learn you State and the Federal Constitutions.

Sam Adams Wisdom

Regarding Elections and Education

TO THE LEGISLATURE OF MASSACHUSETTS. JANUARY 27, 1797.

[Independent Chronicle, January 30, 1797; a text is in the Massachusetts Archives].

…In pursuance of the provision in the Constitution, the people have recently exercised their own sovereign power in the election of another President. Elections to offices, even in the smallest Corporations, are and ought to be deemed highly important; of how much more importance is it, that elections to the highest offices in our extensive Republic, should be conducted in a manner and with a spirit becoming a free, virtuous and enlightened people, who justly estimate the value of their sacred rights.

9-14-19 Constitution Day: Articles of Confederation, Seminar and Book Launch

Constitution Day

While remembering Constitution Day by considering the up and coming remembrance of the present Constitution, one must understand the first Constitution – the Articles of Confederation. Sam Adams was on the Committee to draft the Articles of Confederation. His clear understanding of historical ‘republican’ systems and Biblical Reformation Liberty were critical inputs into the original structure of the Confederation.

I have chosen to re-run a program from 2018 because I don’t believe that folks, even many who think they have the Constitution figured out, really get what is happening at the National Level was predicted by the Anti-federalists. Why do I believe that? Because the Anti-federalists predicted that if the Pulpits did not continue as the Founding Pulpits, the Constitution of 1787 would lead to the ‘soft tyranny and despotism’ that De Tocqueville later wrote about.

Yes, we are Living the predictions of the Anti-federalists and the analytical writing of De Tocqueville!

Covenant and Constitution

I am promoting sections of my book, “From Covenant To The Present Constitution” in this program. Hmmm…. I still believe that everyone reading this or who listens to the program should get a copy. Heck, since I self-publish, I have to self-promote as well. Continue reading

10-7-17 Thoughts Upon The Mode Of Education Proper In A Republic

Thoughts Upon The Mode Of Education Proper In A Republic

The tragedy in Las Vegas is more easily assessed by admitting that we have degenerated in our educational system; because of a lack of knowledge, we see the results in our intentional move away from Founders Original Intent. As I began last week to talk about Witherspoon as a Founder and educator, this week I begin to discuss the treatise written by the gent that got Witherspoon to come to Princeton.

I’m not going to be long in the promo. Simply the key words are ‘inculcate’, ‘Liberty’, ‘Patriotism’, ‘Christianity’, ‘constitutionalism’ and ‘Republic’. I’m not going to get into the depth of it this week but… the battle of education in truth is not new; it was a battle even in 1786. Hmmm, maybe that is why we saw constitutionalism degenerate by the early 1800’s! I’m inclined to go with what Benjamin Rush has to say for our Republic.

8-5-17 Consolidated Government Not the Republic You Thought It Was

Consolidated Government Not the Republic You Thought It Was

Continuing to enhance the program on video and then putting the archive segments up on the SamuelAdamsReturns YouTube channel. Videos posted on Sunday.

In preparing for today’s program I was digging in on the Senate from the Anti-federalists perspective when I was surprised by what I’ve previously read. You know how something jumps out as if it is fresh and new. In the Founders Constitutions I was going through the topic of ‘Popular Basis for Government’ and a series of the Anti-federalists hit our present situation of despotic oligarchy right on the head. Simply, The Constitution as it is today and from the beginning is not the idea of a Republic that we think it is. Continue reading
