We will discuss the sermon of Samuel Cooper “On The Commencement of the Constitution” 1780. Dr. Cooper takes us through the design of constitutionalism from a Biblical covenantal perspective. Through this it is well established that it was the Liberty set in motion by Christ and the moral integrity of Christianity that allowed the American Revolution the authority to bring a new nation forward. Christians Must Vote For Federalism… But Wait! What is it? How does it work? Who is functionally implementing Federalism? I will be exploring Federalism for Christian Citizens and mostly pastors that have little to no understanding of this core fundamental of governance.

I will be opening pandora’s box with touching on Federal Theology as well. The focus of the two correlated in the root word – Federal.

Covenant Covenant - Promises made and kept

What is Covenant? The very concept of Covenant is not a part of our language, not even in Christian circles. This theological concept was in fact a core component of what was understood in our Founders era. Yes, The interactive relationship between individuals, society and individuals as well as the first Covenant of the inner determination of God in three persons to establish salvation were Founders premises for governance.

The American Founders looked at the Reformation context for the definition of Covenant. Here is a simple definition:

“The term “covenant” is of Latin origin (con venire), meaning a coming together. It presupposes two or more parties who come together to make a contract, agreeing on promises, stipulations, privileges, and responsibilities. 1”

In this program, I am covering the use of Covenant in Foundational writings including the Constitution of Massachusetts, writings about Sam Adams, letters or documents written to or by Sam Adams and a perspective from John Witherspoon in his work “Lectures On Moral Society.” Continue reading →

‘A Defense of Liberty Against Tyrants’ is a political pamphlet written in 1579 by Philippe de Mornay. We introduced this pamphlet last week because it is still relevant to our present time. The need for understanding de Mornay’s writing is even more critical this week as many watched or read about the orgy of tyranny at the Demoncrat Convulsion.

I will briefly discuss the lust fest of tyrants gathered, mostly virtually, to continue with their demented Marxists ideology of ‘democracy.’ Every one of their ‘narratives’ proclaiming their intentions for governing are a debasing of all that is ‘truth,’ ‘just,’ ‘righteous,’ ‘Constitutional,’ or ‘God designed.’ Continue reading →

Is it Too Little Too Late for the stance of John MacArthur in resisting the tyrants of government in California? Over the years of his time in the pulpit he has more often told congregations across these United States to NOT become involved in politics or that which is associated with it. I heard him speak a number of years ago telling a large congregation that ‘Christians should not be involved in politics.’ He as well as other major pastors have minimized and worse neglected the extensibility of Biblical truth, which should affect every aspect of life, including the political, social, economic and cultural arenas. Sadly, there are predominant pastors which are part of a coalition that is and has been at times overtly catering to ‘cultural Marxism’ and more – see The Gospel Coalition’s Bamboozling Act.

As I have discussed for the last thirty plus years, The Church is to be victorious in every aspect of where we are placed. This is not a ‘name it and claim it’ concept. It is the eschatology of the Reformers and especially the Puritans that settled the northern colonies of America. Since the mid-1800’s the universalism of the ‘social gospel’ and what I have called ‘roof top eschatology,’ has removed the American foundational view of developing a ‘moral and virtuous people’ to lead in every aspect of governance – beginning with the family. Cotton Mather Promotes A Vaccine  Cotton Mather on Science

In 1721 Cotton Mather promotes a vaccine for smallpox. Unlike the present death percentage for the Chicom Flu of 0.43% of the total population (141,677 dead/328,239,523 population) in the United States – the death rate caused by smallpox during the Colonial time was as high as 1 in 3 people. In her book, Pox Americana, Elizabeth Fenn “gives a conservative estimate of 130,658 deaths from smallpox during the years 1775-82. And not only were many lives lost, but schools, businesses, and governments all virtually shut down during smallpox epidemics. Life came to a complete and deathly halt during these Colonial epidemics.”

Samuel Adams Returns, The Anti-federalists Got It Right is the name of this program. It was brought to my attention that Sam Adams was never on the program.

Therefore, this week, Samuel Adams is the Guest Host of the program named after him. Sam will spend a couple of segments of this program to take us through his speech about the Declaration of Independence.

Letter of Instruction 1764

Constituents would select a key member of the community to develop and write a ‘Letter of Instruction’ to those elected to the General Assembly. In 1764, Samuel Adams was the designated citizen to develop and write ‘INSTRUCTIONS OF HE TOWN OF BOSTON TO ITS REPRESENTATIVES IN THE GENERAL COURT. MAY, 1764.’

For this weeks program, Sam is not only summarizing the purpose of these instructions but read to us the key elements that are relevant to our present time and situation.
